The best banana to use for banana bread are those that are overripe. The yellow peels should be at least half brown.

1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda or baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sour cream (optional)
2 to 3 large bananas, mashed
– preheat oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit or 175 degree Celsius.
– Grease a 9 by 5 inch loaf pan
– In a bowl, stir together the melted butter and sugar. Add the vanilla and eggs, then mix well. Combine the the flour, baking soda or baking powder and salt in another bowl, then stir into the butter and sugar mixture until smooth. Lastly, fold in the sour cream, mashed bananas. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
– Bake at 350 degree Fahrenheit or 175 degree Celsius for one hour or until the toothpick inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean. Cool off the loaf in the pan for 15 minutes before moving to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve and enjoy.
